From manual call logging to streamlined activity tracking and more productive sales workflows

As the business-to-business sales team grew‚ they began using Salesforce Lightning for CRM and sales activities including documenting sales opportunities․ Due to the team's increased engagement with Salesforce‚ they sought a faster way to log call activity․
The method of manually logging calls to customers became cumbersome with increasing numbers of salespeople․ After meeting a customer‚ salespeople need to enter the notes and data multiple times‚ wasting time on data entry․
This could create the problem of incomplete customer histories and fragmented activity records in the CRM‚ and the sales team needed a more efficient way to record activities throughout the day that would synchronize with Salesforce․
The goal of the solution was to accelerate the activity tracking process without impacting the team's existing Salesforce process.

Head of Sales Operations
The Unboxx team built a custom Salesforce Lightning solution that allowed the users to record customer calls with one click. The solution intended to speed up the team's activity tracking without interrupting their current workflow in Salesforce․
A Quick Touch button was added to Contacts‚ Accounts‚ and Opportunities to allow sales representatives to log calls from their respective customer or opportunity record․
When the button is clicked‚ Salesforce will automatically create a call activity with the default Quick Touch subject filled in․ This cut down on some of the manual work needed to create activities․
Additionally‚ the Salesforce record was automatically populated‚ so representatives had both to avoid entering or linking the customer themselves and to ensure that loggers' call logs stayed the same during the sales process․
The solution simplified the process of activity creation, eliminated repetitive administration tasks and boosted consistency in the customer interaction record. Sales representatives could record brief interactions without getting lost in their dialogues and opportunities.
The organization transitioned from a manual and complex call logging system to a new Salesforce Lightning experience. The interactions with customers could now be recorded directly by sales representatives.
Quick Touch cut down on repetitive information representatives had to input following customer calls. This streamlined the workflow and made it a more natural part of the sales process to track activities.
Standardized calls activities also enhanced the uniformity of the customer information throughout the Opportunities, Contacts, and Accounts. Teams had a better history of customer interactions, with no extra administration.
The new workflow freed up more time for sales reps to engage in interactions and opportunities with customers. Salesforce was more user-friendly for routine activity tracking and ensured data quality throughout the organization.
